I iz makin a game not pornoz!

I will be releasing the models later for people to play around with - thus giving the community a way to create brand new, and "correct" looking armour items.

I will release versions with (as close as possible) the same animations and stances as the originals, and attempt to settup the file with cameras with which to veiw the models from the correct locations to take snapshot renders as the model goes through your chosen animation cycle - new sprites could then be created using the snapshots for use in the original game :)

This will however take some time as i need to focus on my own animations, but i will release early versions with a "skeleton" all set up and ready to pose them for those wishing to play around.

..and if anyone REALLY has a need to.. enjoy themselves? while staring at pixels.. i guess they could try and modify the models for that purpose too.. -.-

...BUT SCROODOO WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF YOU DO! and you shall go blind. i hope. ..or at least get a really REALLY bad headache.

Hehe, yeah its gonna take a long time. im hoping a little less than 15 years though lmao!

Im waiting on quite a few things to be completed right now, so that i can use them all together and really get it all moving. This itself is going to take about 5 months, so during this time period im brushing up my modelling skills and learning as much as possible so that when i DO finally start building this thing, i can rocket on with it :)

Once i have the initial playable demo released, i will be pushing it around a few of the forums i frequent and seeing if i cant get a couple more enthusiastic people on board with it to speed up development.

One thing i could really use soon is someone who is handy with texturing... any volunteers? ;)

Oops! i accidentally thought up an amazing idea for a possibly genre breaking FPS MMO and as a result had to do some prototype modelling while the idea is still fresh lol :)

Not gonna spend to much time on it though, buts its a nice break from the 3D soma project while im waiting on software.

I will post this prototype cyborg model up just for the sake of it once its ready. It's just a cyborg - yeah i know there's nothing new or special about that - but game idea is new.. or at least i havent come across anything like it myself yet.. so forgive me for keeping it a secret but its my own little brain-baby and i wanna keep it that way hehe :P

Massive spanner in the works...

Postby ScrooDoo » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:42 pm

My pc blew up.. literally..

PSU + Motherboard + CPU gone in one big bang

Thankfully my hard drive's survived so no data lost, but it's gonna be a while before i can afford to rebuild.. :(

I'm using my friends spare pc at the moment, which isnt the most powerfull machine in the world.. i cant open a lot of my dev files due to the amount of resources they require.

On the brighter side of things, i passed my carpentry course at college, so i should be able to get a decently paid job fairly soon and get everything back up and running :)

Will keep posted.

Probably.. it was about 8 years old and i was asking a lot of it with the modelling for prolonged periods of time..

Oh well it had a good run ;)

Good news! Blender is has finally hit beta stage (2.53) now i just have to get a job and get my new machine built :? So excited! i cant wait to get stuck in with the design work again!!!
