Dual Monitor Issues

Postby iZao » Mon Jul 15, 2013 4:46 pm

I'm just wondering if anything has been done to combat the dual monitor issues with the new server that's being released?

Everyone knows that Soma laggs bad when you're using more than 1 monitor and processor usage goes crazy.

A few solutions I found to help with this are:

- /clear command while in game (helps a bit).
- Disconnect your other monitors
- Download the Monitor Enabler / Disabler by Arcanine http://www.somadev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3474(does the same as above)
- Install VMware player / OS (a bit dramatic, but allows the use of additional monitors without any lagg).

Just wondering if the new server will require any of the above or are you working on a fix?

Finito just gave an update about this. It's too complicated for me to understand but he boiled it down to this:
It won't be done before launch and it is being looked at.

I have fixed the issue but only for limited different versions of gdi32.dll (Windows XP, 7, and 8).

Just finished implementing the patch and it will be part of the client extension and will be available at launch.

It would be useful if can give version information for gdi32.dll in C:\windows\system32.
Then i can check and tell you if i have a patch for that version.

There is a patch for that version but had a report that it does not work.

I am unable to test and fix it as not running that version of the OS.
