makes more sense that way, still seems low imo , 250 hours offline for one level at double exp aint much when your 10+ levels behind someone

and its easily readable but not lookable, cant tell by just looking :P have to hover mouse over to look, you say a seperate exp bar is hard to code in when they already coded in a rest system :P am sure adding another bar inside the exp bar isn't to hard to do

It needs to be low, double exp is going to be x5 rates probs, which is by no means slow. Rested exp isnt meant to give you 100% rested everytime you logon, its for the players that probably have jobs and a family but still want to play good ole soma.

Lets say you spend the day at work and then goto bed and play soma the next morning, you're still gonna have a good chunk of rested exp, at level 65+ its gonna be a welcome bonus, at lower levels it is not really needed. So the higher you get, technically the bigger reward for being rested. as 5% on kobs is obviously not equal to 5% on BLG

Does rest exp only kick in if I log in town??

Logged out of town 2or3 days and came back to 0%rested

Am testing 6 chars. Logged 3 in town and 3 in various hunting areas. The 3 in town all gained rested xp, the other 3 did not.

I thought the idea was to help people catch up hardcore players, this seems such a small bonus it won't actually make any difference?

Not really the slow down is to stop hardcore players thus why it's faster gains the more rested exp you have. Hardcore players will gain barely any rested exp but those who play less often will gain more thus assisting hunting speed yet keeping a higher number for inactivity.

Love it or hate it it's a step in the right direction for a more balanced play.

nice idea i'd say exp/stat based, will be a nice change to be honest bein at work all day to get home and have that little bit extra stats for the time your on :)
