Get Involved "Horde mode"

Hi Guys,

Had this concept for a while now and admittedly stole it from Gears,

Essentially more mobs spawn on a timer, the maps would only allow entry at a certain time and no tracing would be allowed.

Essentially it would be a timed event that would take place on a custom made small map where monsters spawn and become stronger giving players a chance to earn items (Think of it as a weekly event)

How can I get involved?
Right now I'm after concepts of map structures, builds and even ideas on what you'd like to see. Anyone with map making skills can even create the map.

Hope you guys get involved.

sounds would it be set so the mobs attack a town area movin to chars to attack spawnin in waves sounds like it could be quite kool, still think 6th n 7th auras should b added to server as they wuld improve pvp as they higher power mite actually get a chance to drop a player instead of just depletein theyre pots n tp'in

In Warcraft 3 you have RPG maps where you enter a dungeon (new section). Some dungeon have levers, doors that are locked by bosses or other ways to progress. At the end of the dungeon you enter a final boss room where you can't escape from. After the dungeon everyone would be warped to a seperate loot room where they would get all (or in Soma's case one would be better) loot for his class.

Sounds like a good idea to me, although you'd probably need to make it worth while for people doing it. one way you could do this is make more use of the pos system, bum up the rewards and give more variety of rewards for your pos. for example noob weapons with higher attack speed for lvling up and more awesome weapons for higher lvls.

In terms of how the events could work, you could use the same concept as dsoma arena. You could do it like a repeatable quest that awards pos you accept the quest get warped to the small map and fight of waves of mobs etc. There could be a new quest available every say 10 levels and it would award more pos each bracket. theres my input ;)

Maybe have special mobs each map that all have to be killed and when the right ones are killed it releases a message saying something like "Mass legion is advancing on the city, prepare your defence!"

Then something like 30 mins later towns have mass spawn in them of random mobs

Special mobs hidden within normal mobs so people will never know if a special mob been killed, and which they are.

Thats if all that can be done, i dont know what you can do with server but would be grat randomness

I've seen this in a couple of games before 'Woool' and I think Mir do something too, in Woool they had a teleport that would open once a week at such and such time and place, once you enter your teleported into a room full of normal mobs/sub bosses and boss mobs and you had a certain time period to hunt and if you were lucky get some rare items from the drops + they also had a special mob (Deer) which had loads of hp and would basically one hit you, your only way to kill it was to hit and move which since it had a range attack of 1 and could only walk, once it died it would drop deer blood which was needed to craft a very nice ring you could try adding something like this.

Anyway this might not work as well as it did for woool or mir since they are item based game were soma is stat based maybe if you made loads of items, even set base items then this could work

Is this more of an arena to test teams and tactics? You enter as a party, then fight till you die.

Or a massive free-for-all on rarespawn mobs and bosses?

Group finding UI, Map Instancing, Drop rolling and level restrictions for each instance, gold/silver tinted monsters to denote valuable drops and slightly increased exp/stats with a boss appropriate for the instance level at the end, available to run through at any point if you have a party found through the group finding UI
